HOW IS SAFE IT? : BAJAJ FREEDOM 125 CNG

The Bajaj Freedom 125 has just been launched and it is the world’s first CNG bike. But because it is a CNG bike with a cylinder placed underneath the seat, an obvious question arises regarding the safety aspect of the bike. Well, during the presentation at the launch event, Bajaj Auto showed clips of various tests it conducted on the bike at its test facility during the bike’s development process.

The Freedom 125 is powered by a 125cc horizontally mounted single-cylinder engine that produces 9.5hp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm and has a claimed range of 330km. This motor can run on either CNG or petrol at the flip of a switch. The petrol tank’s capacity is 2 litres and the CNG’s is 2kg. The CNG tank weighs 18kg when fully filled with gas. The company has claimed a 102km per kg mileage on CNG and a 65kpl efficiency when using petrol.
