Honda Activa E Launched in India
The Honda Activa e: is powered by two swappable 1.5kWh batteries, the Honda QC1 is powered by a sole 1.5kWh fixed battery.
It has a claimed IDC range of 80km with a full charge taking a long 6 hours and 50 minutes, courtesy of the 330-watt charger supplied with the QC1. That number drops to 4 hours and 30 minutes when you charge it from 0 to 80 percent SOC.The small 1.5kWh battery powers a hub-mounted BLDC motor which makes 1.8kW (2.4hp) of peak power and 77Nm of torque. With a 50kph top speed and a 0-40kph time of 9.7 seconds, the Honda QC1’s performance claims are rather modest.
But with a kerb weight of just 89.5kg, the QC1 should prove to be extremely friendly for most riders. The underpinnings are quite basic on the QC1, with a 12/10-inch alloy wheel setup and a 130mm/110mm drum brake combination akin to the petrol Activa.
The scooter is equipped with swappable batteries called the Honda Mobile Power Pack e. It gets two such swappable batteries, each of 1.5 kWh capacity, which are said to offer a range of 102km on a full charge.
The swappable batteries can be exchanged with the help of designated swapping stations planned across the city. Currently, it is live in Bengaluru, Delhi and will be soon started in Mumbai as well.
Powering the Activa e: is an advanced in-house developed PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous electric motor) that delivers 6 kW (8.1 PS) of power and 22 Nm of peak torque.
It is said to do the 0 to 60 km/h sprint in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 80 km/h. The ACTIVA e: gets three riding modes, namely Econ, Standard & Sport.
ACTIVA e: is equipped with a 7.0-inch TFT display supporting Honda RoadSync Duo, offering seamless smartphone integration. QC1 features a 5.0-inch LCD display and additional practical elements like a USB Type-C outlet and 26-litre under-seat storage. Both models focus on enhancing user convenience and connectivity during rides.
ACTIVA e: is available in five dynamic colours:
Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.
These options enhance its appeal among urban commuters seeking style and functionality. Both scooters come with a comprehensive warranty of three years or 50,000 km, ensuring long-term reliability.
Customers also receive three free services in the first year, along with complimentary roadside assistance for the same period, reinforcing Honda’s focus on customer satisfaction.
