The TVS Jupiter CNG, the world's first CNG-powered scooter has been unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
The TVS Jupiter CNG demonstrates a dual-fuel system, allowing it to run on both CNG and petrol, which significantly increases its efficiency and range. Although TVS has revealed the Jupiter 125 CNG as a concept, the company has yet to announce a launch date for the Indian market.
The CNG tank, the 1.4kg unit is placed where you’d usually find the underseat boot in the regular Jupiter 125. The placement is neat and TVS has covered the tank with a plastic panel. There is an eyelet to show the pressure gauge and a filler nozzle around it. TVS claims that the Jupiter CNG can cover 84km in one kg of CNG.
Additionally, the scooter has a floorboard mounted, 2-litre petrol tank, with the filler nozzle located in the front apron area, similar to the one present in Jupiter 125 ICE scooter. TVS claims a total range (CNG+Petrol) of 226km.
The 124.8cc, single-cylinder engine is rated for 7.2hp at 6,000rpm and 9.4Nm of torque at 5,500rpm, which is a little lower than the petrol-only Jupiter 125, which makes 8.1hp and 10.5Nm. Since the peak output is lower, expect the Jupiter CNG’s performance to also be relatively lethargic and TVS claims a top speed of 80.5kph.
In terms of features, the Jupiter CNG is identical to the Jupiter 125 and has a digi-analogue display, a small cubby on the front apron with a USB charger and start/stop tech.
